Egg Bowl Troll: Lane Kiffin has already begun to troll Mississippi State
This is just what the Egg Bowl Rivalry needed, more trolling.
All kidding aside, the rivalry between Ole Miss and Mississippi State was already one of the most fierce in the nation but for anyone thinking things were going to cool down with Lane Kiffin in Oxford, you have another thing coming.
The new Ole Miss coach recently paid a visit to Starkville for some unspecified reason, most likely to recruit for the Rebels, and Kiffin just couldn’t help himself — he had to spread the word on his popular Twitter account.
Check out the series of tweets Kiffin sent out on Thursday announcing his presence in Starkville.

The Ole Miss coach then sent out this photo from Starkville:

Man, the Lane Kiffin era is going to be an interesting one, that’s for sure.
Oh yeah…he’s totally matured since Tennessee
quickest way to get any ole miss hold outs over to his corner is to do exactly what he’s doing.
Wouldn’t say quickest way. Sure it will work on a particular type of player but his past, infidelity rumors and ole miss culture of being ok with all that (just get a burner phone and all will be ok) add a pretty strong counter argument to buying into all the unfounded hype he gets from the media.
I’m going to wager a guess you are not 17 or 18 years old anymore, are you?
I just don’t get all the anguish over him stepping out on his wife. It happens every single day in every single state in the country. Who cares as long as he knows how to coach? It’s not like we’re talking about breaking recruiting rules or something.
I guess I’m just enough of a degenerate that I don’t care how a coach’s marriage is holding up or who he has on the side, as long as he isn’t committing crimes or violating NCAA rules.
I see this like this, if he’ll lie to his wife, he’ll sure as heck lie to you and me. Not quite the standard I would want from somebody in a leadership role
You’re just egging him on.
Stir the pot, Lane…I love It. the SEC WEST needs some excitement. You will bring energy to Ole Miss…the fans already love you. Win !
But O’Gara says “He showed that he can establish a brand that’s more than just gasoline on a message board fire.”
This is gasoline on Twitter and I’m here for the show.
Got any popcorn?
Michael, them’s aigs.
Great, just great. Another child added to the mix. I hoping after this past game all the adults would get together and stop this nonsense. Get back to a great rivalry without all the antics. I can’t believe the alumni at both schools can be happy with this childish crap
Don’t worry. Lil Kiffin will get him fired soon enough. Just like his bama stop.
Just look up alshon Jeffery Lane kiffin on Google that’ll tell you everything you need to know
Says the Dan Mullen/Jackie Sherrill fan. It may take another year or two to completely get past the NCAA witch hunt, but the Egg Bowl situation is about to get very one sided. :-) And the maroons know it!
Hotty Toddy!
Yea, Dan Mullen is partially responsible for the antics these past few years but he will pale in comparison to an adult who acts like a 14 yr old girl with a Twitter account
Dude you’re just mad because they are about to dominate us as lo g as we have JOMO.
Kiffin vs JoMo…..who do you want?
Neither!
Could Runaway Lane be the first Saban disciple to knockoff the master? I can’t even image the fallout if that were to happen.
Ole Miss has beaten Saban before. All it got them was probation.
What a train wreck of an article. I get it–it’s Saturday Down South, but this isn’t a product anyone should be proud of. The whole piece is written in a juvenile style that is honestly cringe-worthy.
“This is just what the Egg Bowl Rivalry needed, more trolling.”
This is a terrible lead. Why is it what the Egg Bowl needs? And why the comma instead of a colon?
“All kidding aside, the rivalry between Ole Miss and Mississippi State was already one of the most fierce in the nation but for anyone thinking things were going to cool down with Lane Kiffin in Oxford, you have another thing coming.”
Most fierce? Seriously? And WHO was expecting the rivalry to cool down when one of the most controversial figures in college football got the job? What a dumb thing to say. Also, you either forgot or didn’t know to put a comma before “but,” which speaks badly of both you and your editor (assuming you have one).
“Man, the Lane Kiffin era is going to be an interesting one, that’s for sure.”
Too obvious to be witty or cute. The style you’re going for simply falls flat, especially considering your odd choice of a comma. I think it’s fair to say readers deserve better than this, even if we’re reading for free. Where can I submit my resume?
