Lane Kiffin receives automatic extension after Ole Miss defeats Arkansas
Lane Kiffin has endured an up-and-down season with Ole Miss, but a 63-31 road win over Arkansas brought with it plenty of positives for the Rebels to take into the closing weeks of the season.
Behind Jaxon Dart’s 6 touchdowns and Jordan Watkins’ record-setting day at receiver, the Ole Miss offense found the explosiveness it was known for early in the season. And with a win over the Razorbacks, the Rebels kept their College Football Playoff hopes alive ahead of a marquee matchup against Georgia this Saturday.
The seventh win of the season for Ole Miss also ensured that Lane Kiffin would receive an automatic one-year contract extension that is worth $9 million, with $7.2 million of that being guaranteed.

In all likelihood, Kiffin is far from concerned with his job security at this juncture and has way more than seven wins on his mind. Still, this unique contract structure allows him to have some assurance when it comes to the longevity of his tenure in Oxford.
