Lane Kiffin’s return to Knoxville certainly didn’t disappoint. The back-and-forth game was thoroughly entertaining, and quarterback Matt Corral may have cemented himself as the Heisman Trophy favorite with an impressive performance.

The actual game result, however, will get lost in all the nonsense at the end of the game. Tennessee fans threw debris onto the field with 54 seconds remaining in the game. Vols fans were disgusted by a 4th and 24 spot that ultimately gave Ole Miss the ball back with under a minute to play. Vols fans threw bottles, trash and other debris onto the field of play that delayed it for 20 minutes. Kiffin was even hit with a golf ball thrown from the stands.

Tennessee ended up getting the ball back, thanks to 3 timeouts, but it ultimately ran out of time as backup quarterback Joe Milton ran out of bounds as time expired.

After the game, Kiffin proudly showed off the golf ball thrown at him during the on-field postgame meeting with the SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic.

Tennessee fans continued to boo Kiffin all the way off the field, and one fan even threw a water bottle at Kiffin near the tunnel. The Ole Miss head coach nearly caught it with one hand, too, as his security escort ducked for cover.

Then, Kiffin pulled the ultimate troll move by throwing his Ole Miss visor into the crowd of Tennessee fans to end the game.
