Lane Kiffin lamented the loss to Arkansas on Saturday as he searched for answers for what went wrong.
“I don’t know. A lot of analytics about hangovers. Just ask LSU,” Kiffin told the media about distractions. “I told the team there is a recipe to not winning, it is 3 turnovers.”
About his message to his players with the Egg Bowl on Thursday, “You don’t have any time to pout and feel bad for yourself because you have a short week, so maybe that’s a good thing.”
Kiffin added that critical penalties took 14 points off the board.
Coach Kiffin on his message to players: “You don’t have any time to pout and feel bad for yourself because you have a short week, so maybe that’s a good thing. We’re going to have to get back on track to play them (State) and they’re dangerous.”

Coach Kiffin: “(Rocket) Sanders had a great game…how many SEC games have you covered where there are three runnings backs with over 200 yards in a game?”

Coach Kiffin: “Very discouraging…..I know it will probably sound crazy, but I didn’t feel like we came out flat… We were moving the ball well. We played really poor in the red zone. Two TD passes called back and we didn’t tackle very well. I give them a lot of credit…

I don’t like the penalties…critical penalties. You get those two TDs and the game is obviously very different. Very discouraging this late in the year to have decision-making issues like that.”
