Lane Kiffin has been known to troll and speak his mind. The Ole Miss head coach recently appeared on the Paul Finebaum Show and gave the veteran analyst a hard time for “getting him fired” from USC.
If you don’t know, Kiffin and Finebaum have a long history. On College GameDay in 2013, Finebaum called Kiffin the “Miley Cyrus of college football coaching,” and said USC should fire him. Later that night, Kiffin was indeed fired. Kiffin also mentioned this incident to Finebaum last July at SEC Media Days.
On Tuesday, the pair were reunited and Kiffin couldn’t help but get another dig in.
“You know, you got me fired from USC,” Kiffin explained to Finebaum. “We’ve said that before, and now I’m saying, hey, I wouldn’t have been here to get the Georgia win if you wouldn’t have gotten me fired at USC.”

After Kiffin departed from USC, the coach spent 3 seasons as an assistant at Alabama under Nick Saban. Kiffin then served as the head coach at Florida Atlantic for 3 seasons before landing the Ole Miss gig.
“So again, I’m grateful for that, Paul. Thanks for that day, thanks for the Miley Cyrus comment,” Kiffin said jokingly.
Kiffin picked up the biggest win of his coaching career in Week 11 when his Rebels took down Georgia. Now, Kiffin’s squad has a bye week in Week 12 before ending the regular season against Florida and Mississippi State.
