Lane Kiffin uses viral 'Gladiator' clip in apparent challenge to Ole Miss fans
Lane Kiffin has Ole Miss 2-0 this season and up to No. 5 in the country on the latest AP Poll. The Rebels have been overpowering, to say the least, outscoring their two opponents 128-3 in dominating fashion.
So, what could possibly be the problem for Ole Miss right now? Well, when it comes to Kiffin, he still wants to see the fans stick around a bit longer on gameday.
Kiffin addressed the issue of fans leaving early recently, admitting he simply doesn’t understand why fans might leave when the team is playing well.
Kiffin said he finds it “pretty entertaining” to see a quality team playing well, which would describe the Rebels in the first two games. On the other hand, Kiffin would expect the stands to empty “when it’s a bad product,” but Ole Miss has been electric thus far.
Monday morning, Kiffin appeared to double-up on that theme via social media. He posted the “Are you not entertained?” clip featuring Russell Crowe from the movie “Gladiator” while adding a shrugging emoji to the post.

Maybe fans would respond better if Ole Miss actually played a closer game, but they would certainly be unhappy if the Rebels played a game closer than expected — or lost. It’s also likely fans will not see anything close at home for a while.
Ole Miss will be on the road in Week 3 before facing Georgia Southern and Kentucky at home to finish September. Kiffin’s team should be heavily favored in both of those games, so it might be more blowouts in Oxford for a while.
Look, they sold out the game for MTSU…
It’s pretty self explanatory. When you play high school teams, put the students in the sun, charge them 18 bucks a beverage, and blow the doors off the competition, they go back to the Grove… so would I.
Schedule better competition and lower drink prices and I’m sure those upper corners of the student section will stay packed… otherwise, enjoy the cupcake game for what it is.
Kiffin wants to be Tennessee’s coach again so bad.
Keep dreaming.
If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have publicly lobbied for it when it was open.
