Lane Kiffin weighs in on perceived usage of squirrel delays during Ole Miss games

Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels had a day to remember on Saturday, as the Rebels knocked off No. 3 Georgia by a score of 28-10. The Rebels dominated the game for pretty much the entire day and gave Kiffin the signature win he has been looking for in his coaching career.
There was more of a comical moment in the game when there was a delay during the game because a squirrel was out on the field. If you can believe it, that was not the first game of the season that Ole Miss has had interrupted by a squirrel.
Kiffin and his team have been called out for potentially faking injuries, and the coach made some jokes that the squirrel interruptions will be used to get a well-timed delay instead.
“When guys get tired, we send the squirrel out there,” Kiffin said on Sunday night.
Lane Kiffin discusses the rumors that he plans squirrels coming on the field as a replacement for the fake injuries:

The idea was first tossed out by a fan on social media on Saturday. Kiffin took notice of that post, responding with a quizzical emoji to acknowledge the idea.

All jokes aside, the Rebels picked up a huge win the team desperately needed. If Ole Miss would have lost this game, then it would have been all but eliminated from the College Football Playoff.
With the win, Ole Miss is in a very good spot to make the CFP. The Rebels have a very manageable schedule with games at Florida and at home against Mississippi State to end the year.
Ole Miss will be on a bye next week, and there is a good chance All-American candidate Tre Harris will be back playing for the Florida game.
