One week after collapsing in the second half against Arkansas, the Ole Miss Rebels were able to bounce back with a big road win over Kentucky.

The Rebels trailed 34-30 late, but a touchdown pass to WR D.K. Metcalf put Ole Miss ahead for good with five seconds left.

After the game, interim coach Matt Luke was excited about the win, saying he’s happy for his team after a tough loss last week.

Here’s what Luke had to say after the Rebels’ impressive victory:

On picking up a big team victory:

“I’m really proud of our guys. They keep showing up every week and battling and they continued to do that tonight and put themselves in a position to win the game.”

On the final play to WR D.K. Metcalf:

“At the end, the ball went our way and we made a play to win the game. I’m just happy for the kids. They’ve been battling and something finally went their way.”

On bouncing back from a loss against Arkansas last week:

“Arkansas didn’t matter tonight. It was just about us and our kids. They fought and they showed up.”

On four-straight second-half defensive stops:

“I’m just proud of our defense. They’ve struggled a little bit, but they just kept battling.”

On the road ahead:

“We’ve got 19 more days guaranteed to us and we’re going to take advantage of it.”
