Memphis DL Kayode Oladele has no love for Ole Miss.
In fact, he fired a shot at the Rebels during the Tigers’ media day prior to the start of fall camp, saying he wants to “stomp” them.
There’s a backstory to these comments. Oladele originally signed with Auburn in 2018 recruiting class, but he did not enroll. Oladele was awaiting a decision from the NCAA Clearinghouse about his eligibility, but per reports, his decision to not attend Auburn was ultimately a decision made by the university.
The 6-5, 251-pound lineman redshirted his first year with the Tigers, but he’s certainly looking forward to playing the Rebels Week 1.
“It’s really an important game for me, because I was recruited by Ole Miss. So, I’m ready to put my feet on their face when we play them.”
When asked why, he responded, “Because I want to make the coach that was recruiting me remember my name again. … Make plays, tackle his quarterback and, you know, stomp them.”
We can bet this clip will be played over and over in the Ole Miss locker room prior to the season opener. It was shared by Sudu Upadhyay, reporter and sports anchor for WMC Action News 5:
Former Auburn signee & Memphis DL Kayode Oladele redshirted a year ago. He’ll make his CFB debut in the Tigers season opener vs. Ole Miss on Aug 31.

The Rebels also held media day on Thursday, and Matt Luke addressed the importance of the Week 1 opener against Memphis.
“It’s a big game for us, especially with all the young players we have going into it. Memphis is a great football team. It’ll be a challenge. They give you a lot of different formations, a lot of different looks to try and get you out of gaps. We’ll have to be sound.”
