With the bad blood between Ole Miss and Mississippi State at an all-time high in recent years, many wonder if the Bulldogs played a role in drawing NCAA attention to the Rebels’ alleged misdeeds.

However, when asked about that speculation on Monday, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze brushed the question aside, saying he just wants the investigation into the school to be over:

“It’s been difficult for us to endure,” Freeze said. “I have no idea who all is behind it, so it would be kind of crazy for me to comment on that. Hopefully it’s coming to an end soon.”

There’s sure to be plenty of tension when the Rebels and Bulldogs face off in the Egg Bowl on Saturday afternoon.

The game is set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. Central time and can be seen on the SEC Network.
