Ole Miss has received a verbal commitment from New Orleans (La.) John F. Kennedy cornerback Bernard Causey.

The 6-foot, 160-pound Causey has seen his recruitment explode since the spring. He chose the Rebels from a group of finalists that also included Mississippi State, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Colorado, and Nebraska. All 7 of his top teams have offered since the beginning of March. The Ole Miss offer landed on the 1st of May, and the Rebels did well to close the deal in his recruitment.

Causey has good length at the position and played in the backend of a Kennedy squad that went 10-2 last fall and advanced to the Louisiana Division II Select state quarterfinal.

He’s a 3-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite and ranks as the No. 926 overall prospect in the class. He’s also the No. 76 corner and the No. 29 prospect from the state of Louisiana.

Ole Miss now has 13 known commitments in its 2024 class — a group that ranks 21st nationally and has added 4 names since the weekend. You can see Causey’s highlight tape below, via Hudl:
