Ole Miss defensive back MJ Daniels (Lucedale, Mississippi) announced Saturday evening that he would be entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.

“I’ll be entering my name in the transfer portal,” Daniels said on Twitter.

Obviously, that doesn’t mean that Daniels will end up leaving Ole Miss; however, it’s rare that players do return to their school after entering the portal.

The defensive back just finished up his freshman season at Ole Miss. He recorded 2 tackles.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound safety exited high school as a 3-star prospect and ranked as the nation’s No. 26 overall athlete, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Daniels was thought to play a bigger role in 2022; however, that may not pan out for the Rebels or for Daniels.
