Ole Miss is revamping its defense after losing several players to the 2022 NFL Draft and the transfer portal.

The Rebels are also losing DC DJ Durkin, replacing him with head coach Lane Kiffin’s brother, Chris, and Chris Partridge as co-defensive coordinators.

On Wednesday, the Rebels lost another defender to the portal, as Keidron Smith took to Twitter to reveal his intentions to explore his transfer options:

Smith has been a key part of the Rebels’ secondary the past 4 years. In 2021, he played in 11 games, recording 65 tackles (2.5 for a loss), 2 interceptions, 3 pass breakups and 2 forced fumbles.

Based on his experience and production, he’s sure to draw plenty of interest on the transfer market. We’ll see where he ends up next.
