Ole Miss is going to be missing one of the most lethal offensive weapons in the Southeastern Conference when it meets rival Mississippi State on Friday afternoon in the annual Egg Bowl.

According to the injury report released by the team on Friday, Rebels’ wideout Tre Harris has been ruled out.

Harris, a fifth-year senior, leads the SEC and is eighth in the FBS in receiving yards this season with 1,030. That figure also puts him at fourth in the SEC in total yards from scrimmage. Simply put, he’s one of Jaxson Dart’s favorite targets and one of the key players that makes the Ole Miss offense – which ranks ninth national in scoring at 38.5 points per game – go.

According to ESPN, Harris’ injury is related to his groin. He has 60 catches this year and has scored seven touchdowns.

Harris had just one catch last week in Ole Miss’ loss at Florida, but it was a 43-yard touchdown strike. That was Harris’ first game action since Oct. 12, when he had seven catches for 102 yards and a score in the Rebels’ loss at LSU.

The injury has seemingly ended Harris’ regular season. Whether or not fans have seen the last of him in an Ole Miss uniform remains unclear.

Friday’s game is slated to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
