The Ole Miss Rebels have had a horrible defense this season, ranking at the bottom of many categories in the SEC.

Nationally, the Rebels haven’t fared much better, and because of those struggles, defensive coordinator Wesley McGriff has now been officially fired.

Ole Miss released a statement on Friday morning with head coach Matt Luke discussing the change on the defensive side of the ball:

McGriff was a co-defensive coordinator at Auburn in 2016, but the Ole Miss job was his first time being the sole defensive coordinator.

Now, he’s out at Ole Miss and the Rebels are on the hunt for a new leader of the defense.
