Ole Miss hoops adds transfer commitment from high-upside Pac-12 guard

Chris Beard has added his 2nd transfer commitment of the offseason, dipping into the portal to earn a pledge from former Arizona State guard Austin Nunez.
The rising sophomore guard averaged just 4.4 points for the Sun Devils last season, but has a higher upside than stats would suggest.
He sat behind star guard Frankie Collins all season but shined in some of the bigger games the Sun Devils played, especially early in the year. Nunez dropped 15 points in a win over Michigan, 10 points in a close win over Creighton and another 10 points in a respectable loss to UCLA to start the 2022/23 campaign.
Unfortunately, Nunez missed the final 8 games of the season with a concussion.

Beard has a lot of work to do, but adding Nunez and transfer SF Brandon Murray is a good place to start. The Rebels await an official decision from Matthew Murrell (NBA Draft, maintaining eligibility), but have already received news that Jaemyn Brakefield will return for a senior season with Ole Miss.
Keep an eye on Oxford next season.
