Ole Miss landed a talented wide receiver out of California for their 2026 recruiting class on Wednesday night.

Jameson Powell took to social media to announce his commitment to the Rebels. The prospect chose Ole Miss over offers from Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Colorado.

“I’m home #hottytoddy,” wrote Powell in his announcement, while tagging coaches George McDonald and Lane Kiffin.

The WR stars for Folsom High School in Folsom, CA. The 247Sports Composite ranking rates Powell as a 3-star prospect, the No. 65 wide receiver, and the No. 42 player out of California in the 2026 class.

Powell began contributing hugely during his sophomore season. That season, Powell caught 86 passes for 1,231 yards and 14 touchdowns. As a junior in 2024, Powell caught 68 passes for 920 yards and 16 TDs. The speedy WR has received praise for his ability to get open and make defenders miss after the catch.

With the addition of Powell, the Rebels currently have the No. 35 class for 2026. Powell is just the 2nd player to commit to the Rebels so far, joining 3-star ATH Zion Legree out of Pensacola, Florida. In 2025, the Rebels currently have the No. 16 class which is headlined by 1 5-star and 12 4-stars. Since coming to Oxford, Kiffin has had a top-25 recruiting class in all but 1 season.

The 2024 Rebels finished just shy of making the College Football Playoff with a 9-3 record. The team has not only been busy with high school recruiting but also in the transfer portal, adding 22 players via the portal so far.
