Ole Miss has landed another commitment via the transfer portal. The Rebels already have the No. 1 transfer portal class per 247Sports and another key piece was added Sunday.

Former Virginia Tech tight end Daequan Wright took to social media to announce his decision to commit to the Rebels.

Wright entered the portal in December and will have 2 years of eligibility remaining. The versatile tight end lined out wide for the Hokies as well and collected 47 catches for 574 yards over 2 seasons with the team. Wright will likely split time with Caden Prieskorn at the TE position in Oxford.

Wright was originally a 3-star prospect, per the 247Sports Composite ranking, out of Perry High School in Perry, GA. The TE was rated as the No. 33 TE and the No. 68 player out of Georgia in the 2022 class. Wright chose Virginia Tech out of high school after receiving offers from South Alabama, Georgia State, and Georgia Tech.

After entering the portal, Wright also received interest from Texas A&M before settling on the Rebels. The Rebels have done a fantastic job in the portal this offseason, with Wright being the 14th player to commit to the Rebels.

Walter Nolen, Tyler Baron, and Princely Umanmielen are among the other notable players who have committed to the Rebels thus far.
