Just one day after receiving an offer from Ole Miss, JUCO DT Larrell Murchison has announced that he’ll play for the Rebels in 2017.

The 6-foot-4, 277-pound defender from Louisburg College tweeted about the Rebels’ offer on Wednesday night:

According to 247Sports, Murchison has a pre-existing relationship with new Ole Miss defensive line coach Tray Scott, who just joined the Rebels’ staff from North Carolina, that led to the commitment:

“It was just the relationship I had built with Tray Scott,” Murchison told Rebels247. “I knew I would follow him anywhere he went.

“It was how he kept up with me. It was everything he’s told me he’s done and what he plans to do. It was the relationship.”

Ole Miss was Murchison’s only Division I offer at the time of his commitment. He recorded 41 tackles and six sacks for Louisburg in 2016.
