The Ole Miss Rebels are once again off to a fantastic start, as the team is now 6-1 after their 28-21 win against Auburn on Saturday night.  Running back Quinshon Judkins had a big night, rushing the ball 21 times for 124 yards and 1 touchdown.

The rivalry took a turn in 1999 when then Ole Miss coach Tommy Tuberville  said the only way he would leave Oxford was in a “pine box.” He then left for Auburn just a few days later.

Not only was this a big win for the 2023 team, it was a significant victory in the history of Ole Miss football. This was the first time since 1951-52 that Ole Miss has won consecutive games against Auburn. The Tigers lead the all-time series with the Rebels 35-12.

Last season, Ole Miss won the game 48-34. One thing the Rebels will want to do differently is finish this season compared to last year. After starting out 7-0 last season, the Rebels lost five of their last six games to end the season.

The Rebels have two home games coming up against Vanderbilt and Texas A&M before a matchup at No. 1 Georgia. Ole Miss is still right there for a spot in the SEC championship, as well as potential college football playoff berth.
