Ole Miss has set a starting rotation for the first 2 games of the College World Series finals against Oklahoma.

Nick Suss of the Clarion Ledger shares that right-hander Jack Dougherty will start Saturday’s Game 1. Hunter Elliott will get the ball in Game 2.

The CWS finals is a best-of-3 series. The Rebels have not assigned a starter if the finals go to a Game 3.

Dougherty, a sophomore, has pitched 39 innings, including 3 starts, in 2022. He has a 5.08 ERA, allowing 22 runs, all earned, on 45 hits while striking out 55 and walking 15. Dougherty has faced 181 batters, who are averaging .285 at the plate. Dougherty’s last appearance was Wednesday against Arkansas. He pitched 2 innings without allowing a run, giving up 1 hit, and recording 3 strikeouts over 21 pitches.

Elliott, a freshman, has logged 11 starts in 19 appearances. He has a 2.70 ERA over 73.1 innings pitched. Elliott has faced 307 batters (.206 average), allowing 27 runs (22 earned) on 54 hits, striking out 96 to 32 walks. Elliott pitched 6.1 innings in Monday’s Ole Miss-Arkansas game, giving up 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits while striking out 4 batters on 100 pitches.

Game 1 is set for 6 p.m. CT/7 p.m. ET on Saturday. Game 2 is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT/3 p.m. ET on Sunday. Both games will air on ESPN.
