Ole Miss put together a 10-win regular season for the first time in school history under coach Lane Kiffin in 2021.

Though Kiffin remains in Oxford, several of his top assistants have left for other jobs, including both coordinators.

On Monday night, the Rebels officially announced the additions of several new assistants — Co-OC/QB coach Charlie Weis Jr., RB coach Marquel Blackwell, Co-DC/LB coach Chris Kiffin and strength and conditioning coach Nick Savage:

Additionally, per a release from the school, WR coach Derrick Nix has added assistant head coach to his job title.

“I’m excited about the direction of our program with these new hires and role changes,” Kiffin said in the release. “The experience, familiarity and track record of success with these new coaches will only strengthen our staff chemistry and continuity. In addition, I look forward to seeing some of our current coaches take on increased leadership roles after helping us guide this team to record-breaking success in our first two seasons here.”

We’ll see if Ole Miss is primed for more success in 2022 with all these staff changes. For now, though, Kiffin and his staff are turning their focus to recruiting and the transfer portal, as the Ole Miss roster still has some holes that need filled before spring football kicks off.
