Ole Miss has officially found a new co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach.

Rebel fans will be excited to learn that Lane Kiffin has hired a talented assistant with deep Ole Miss roots to his staff for the 2024 season.

Per a release from the school, Bryan Brown is leaving Cincinnati (a new Big 12 program) to come back to Oxford to serve as the Rebels’ co-DC and secondary coach:

“We are excited to add a high-quality coach like Bryan Brown to our staff,” Kiffin said, via the release. “He has deep Ole Miss roots as a player, and as a coach, he has proven himself multiple times to be one of the top defensive coaches and recruiters in the nation. He has a proven pedigree, and I think it continues to show our commitment to making Ole Miss Football a national program that competes at the highest level on both sides of the ball.”

Brown has spent time coaching defensive backs at Cincinnati, Louisville and Appalachian State in recent years. He played at Ole Miss from 2003 to 2006, recording 70 tackles and returning an interception for a touchdown:

Brown was a dual-sport athlete, also serving as the point guard for Ole Miss basketball in 2002.
