Ole Miss’ pitching staff didn’t have a single shut out all season, and now the Rebels have back-to-back shut outs that have fueled their trip to Omaha.

On Sunday, Ole Miss advanced to its first College World Series since 2014 with a 5-0 win over Southern Miss, as the final team in the NCAA Tournament field of 64 is headed the pinnacle of college baseball. Ole Miss is the fourth No. 3 seed in a regional to reach the CWS without a loss since 1999 when regional seeds were named.

For the Rebels, Justin Bench on Sunday had 3 hits, including a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday’s win. On the mound, Hunter Elliott struck out 10 in 7 1/3 innings, and only allowed 3 hits.

To win Game 1, Ole Miss relied on starter Dylan DeLucia, who didn’t allow a run through 5 and 1/3 innings on 108 pitches, and delivered 9 strikeouts and just 4 hits.
