The Ole Miss Rebels dropped one spot in this week’s Associated Press Poll after an ugly 24-3 win over Memphis Saturday night, but the drop in the rankings did not cause a drop in the Rebels’ confidence.

Ole Miss faces its biggest game in recent history this weekend with No. 3 Alabama coming to town, and Rebels’ All-American safety Cody Prewitt has already alerted the nation that his team is not intimidated.

“We understand that we haven’t played a team that’s going to be as good as Bama,” Prewitt told Fox Sports’ Brandon Speck after Saturday’s win. “But we don’t really think Bama is as good as they have been. And we’re better than we have been. We’re looking forward to getting to the game plan and really nailing down all the tweaks and stuff that we’re going to have to put into Bama.”

Those are some strong words from a senior leader on the Ole Miss defense. The Rebels will certainly have their work cut out for them against a potent Alabama offense that effortlessly scored 42 points on Florida its last time out. However, the Ole Miss defense also held Memphis to just 104 yards of offense for the game in a dominant performance of its own.

The Rebs and Tide will meet at 3:30 PM ET in Oxford on Saturday, and ESPN’s College GameDay will be in the Grove for the occasion as well.
