The No. 1 Ole Miss Rebels continue to be hot on the diamond. Ole Miss improved to 4-0 on Wednesday night with a 12-1 win over Arkansas State in its home opener.
The Rebels were up 10-1 when John Rhys Plumlee stepped to the plate. The Rebels weren’t hurting for insurance runs, but Plumlee made it a double-digit lead, launching a towering shot over the wall in left-center field for his first-career dinger.
The Ole Miss football team was proud of the two-sport star, sharing the highlight clip from the baseball team’s Twitter account and tagging Lane Kiffin:
That’s it, @PlumleeJohn will only be hitting cleanup from now on during wiffle ball games. 💪@Lane_Kiffin | #HottyToddy pic.twitter.com/ZALALUmeL2
