Ole Miss is headed to a bowl game for the first time since the 2015 season.

The Rebels will head to the Outback Bowl in Tampa to take on No. 11 Indiana on Jan. 2, it was announced on Sunday. And it’s a first-time matchup for either team on the gridiron as well.

The state of Florida is certainly familiar territory for Lane Kiffin, who coached at Florida Atlantic for 3 seasons before his return to the SEC to take the reins of the Rebels program. In his first season, Ole Miss showed progress but weren’t able to put all the pieces together; still, it can clinch its 1st non-losing season since 2017 with a win over the Hoosiers.

Indiana will enter the game at 6-1, its only loss coming to Ohio State on Nov. 21. The Hoosiers have not played since a 14-6 win over Wisconsin on Dec. 5; an 8th game against Purdue was ultimately canceled.

Kickoff between Ole Miss and Indiana on Jan. 2 is set for 12:30 pm ET/11:30 pm CT on ABC.
