Ole Miss is continuing its efforts to build an elite transfer portal class this offseason.
As of Friday afternoon, the Rebels already have 12 transfer commits in this class. The group currently sits at No. 2 in the national transfer portal rankings, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
The Rebels may make a legitimate run at the No. 1 spot by the end of the weekend. According to reports, the Rebels are hosting former Arkansas running back Braylen Russell and former LSU defensive back Sage Ryan on Friday. On3’s Pete Nakos shared both of those reports on Friday.
Russell was a true freshman in 2024, but he still managed to carve out a role in Arkansas’ backfield this past season. He carried the ball 47 times for 304 yards and 2 touchdowns. A former 4-star prospect, he will have 3 seasons of eligibility remaining at his next program.
Ryan is a veteran defensive back who just wrapped up his 4th year in Baton Rouge, including his 3rd as a full-time contributor. He departs LSU with 113 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 5 forced fumbles and 13 pass deflections in his collegiate career. He has 1 year of eligibility remaining.
So far, Ole Miss has brought in SEC transfers Caleb Odom (Alabama), Patrick Kutas (Arkansas), Antonio Kite (Auburn), Kewan Lacy (Mizzou), Luke Hasz (Arkansas), Jaylon Braxton (Arkansas) and Da’Shawn Womack (LSU).
There is no known timetable for either Russell or Ryan to make a commitment.
