Ole Miss is set to lose some depth in the defensive backfield as Tylan Knight has entered the transfer portal after he made 37 tackles this past season along with 3.5 tackles for a loss and one sack.

The news came from Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports, as Knight, a 5-foot-7 and 175-pounder from Pearl, Mississippi, appeared in 47 games for the Rebels over the last 4 years. In 2020, he appeared in all 10 games as he switched from running back to defensive back 5 games into the season, although as a freshman in 2018, he appeared in all 12 games and spent time at both running back and defensive back.

Coming out of high school, Knight was named the co-MVP of the 2017 Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Game after leading Mississippi to a convincing 42-7 win over Alabama. He led Pearl High School to a perfect 16-0 record and a Mississippi 6A state title .
