The Ole Miss Rebels set an all-time attendance record for Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday, as 66,703 was the official attendance number for the showdown against LSU.

The previous attendance record for the stadium was 66,176, which was set against Alabama in 2016.

All 66,703 fans in attendance on Saturday were treated to a record-breaking first half. The Rebels and Tigers combined for 760 total yards of offense, which is the most yards in a half of an SEC game in 20 years.

The Rebs collected 145 rush yards and 242 pass yards in the 1st half, while the Tigers racked up 139 yards on the ground and 234 through the air. The Rebels took a 31-28 lead into the half. The Tigers had a turnover and a missed field goal in the first half, but the Rebels had more penalties.

After some early struggles, the Rebel rushing attack is working well again. The Rebels had more rushing yards at the half on Saturday than they had all game against Alabama in Week 4.

It certainly doesn’t seem like the scoring will be slowing down anytime soon. This game appears to be a shootout until the final buzzer.
