On Saturday, former Ole Miss coach Tommy Tuberville was back in Oxford to announce the Texas A&M-Ole Miss game for ESPN.

However, a segment where the stadium crew tried to troll the former coach backfired, as it was met with boos from the crowd.

An old video of Tuberville led the “Are you ready?” cheer to start the second half, but the fans in attendance didn’t appreciate seeing the former coach again. That led to an Ole Miss staffer apologizing for the error in judgement:

How it was supposed to be a troll job is unclear, but whatever the intent, it didn’t land well with the fan base, and that’s all that matters. Yes, 20 years is a long time to hold a grudge, but that’s SEC football for you.

It’s safe to say Tuberville won’t be making many more appearances on the Ole Miss video board in the next 20 years.
