Report: 4-star DL cancels visit to FSU, reaffirms Ole Miss commitment
Highly-regarded JUCO defensive lineman Sam Williams reportedly cancelled his weekend trip to Florida State and will sign with Ole Miss according to 247Sports.
Williams, who attended Northeast Mississippi Community College, committed to Ole Miss in June, but was still taking visits. He is ranked as the No. 7 junior college prospect in the 2019 class. He’s also the top available junior college recruit in Alabama.
In addition to Ole Miss and Florida State, Williams reportedly received offers from 12 other schools, including Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M, Kentucky, and Tennessee in the SEC.
Including Williams, 247Sports ranks Ole Miss 19th in the 2019 team composite rankings. While that’s impressive on the surface, among SEC teams, Ole Miss’ class sits in ninth and last in the SEC West on the same rankings list.
Williams is one of five 4-star players Ole Miss has committed in the class.
