Arizona Cardinals DE Robert Nkemdiche was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona, by police on June 6 for speeding and driving on a suspended license, per a report by ABC15 Arizona.

Citing the police report, Nkemdiche was going 75 MPH in a 45 MPH zone and was pulled over at 6:30 a.m. He told police he was going to practice, which started at 7:00 a.m. During the stop, police discovered there was a warrant issued for his arrest for failing to appear for a court hearing and driving on a suspended license. The report also said that police found a white powdery substance consistent with cocaine in a credit card holder in the center console. Police, however, didn’t test the substance.

“Based on the totality of the circumstances, it was decided not to pursue testing of the credit card holder in lieu of impounding the item for destruction with Robert’s cooperation,” the police report stated.

The Cardinals released the following statement regarding Nkemdiche’s arrest.

“We are aware of the June 6th incident involving Robert Nkemdiche. We have alerted the NFL office in accordance with the league’s personal conduct policy and will comment further when appropriate.”

The Cardinals drafted Nkemdiche 29th overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.
