Published:

Ole Miss is losing special teams coordinator Blake Gideon to Texas and new coach Steve Sarkisian’s staff.

But, it seems a swap could be in order, according to a report from FootballScoop.com.

Per the report, Ole Miss is considering former Texas co-DC Coleman Hutzler as potentially its new special teams coordinator:

Sources tell FootballScoop Ole Miss is strongly considering hiring Coleman Hutzler from the University of Texas.

At Texas, Hutzler served as co-defensive coordinator (linebackers). He previously served as special teams coordinator at South Carolina for several seasons under Will Muschamp.

In addition to working under Muschamp at South Carolina, Hutzler also served on his staffs at Florida in 2010, 2011 and 2014.

We’ll see what happens as Ole Miss’s search continues.
