Texas WR announces decommitment from Ole Miss
Frisco, Texas native Drew Donley shared Thursday afternoon that he has decommitted from Ole Miss.
The 6-2, 170-pounder is rated 3-stars, the No. 174 wide receiver, No. 180 recruit in Texas and No. 1,199 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2021 on the 247Sports Composite. Northwestern is the only other Power 5 school that has extended a scholarship offer to Donley. His 23 scholarship offers include multiple Ivy League programs as well as Air Force, Army, Boise State, Cincinnati, Hawaii, Tulane and Tulsa.
Out of Lebanon Trail, Donley had pledged to Ole Miss on Aug. 21.
I am no longer committed to the University of Mississippi.

I wonder if he was “encouraged” to decommit. But this late, there will be some P5s looking for a late addition. Or maybe a G5 in Texas is what he’s thinking.
I was thinking the same thing. This sounds like a new staff that’s not as interested, thus a de-commitment. Seems like a receiver of his ranking would like this offense.
A new staff with only one other WR committed and a total of 12 commits ranked 62 in the nation? I don’t think he was encouraged to look elsewhere by Ole Miss.
Be prepared to eat your words.

He was one of three Ole Miss players that were informed that the team was going in a different direction a few weeks ago. Between now and the 16th, you will see why.
