Trace Bruckler, formerly of New Mexico, has announced his decision to commit to Ole Miss for the 2025 season. The tight end entered the portal in December after catching 22 passes for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Lobos during the 2024 season.

“The best is yet to come… Thank you Jesus! #HottyToddy,” said the TE in his announcement on social media.

Bruckler played in 39 games over 4 seasons at New Mexico and caught 46 passes for 421 yards and 5 TDs.

Before heading to the Lobos, Bruckler starred for Lone Star High School in Frisco, TX. The 247Sports Composite ranking had Bruckler as a 3-star recruit and the No. 311 prospect out of Texas in the 2021 class. The pass-catcher played WR in high school and chose New Mexico over offers from Arizona, Georgetown, and Houston Christian.

Bruckler becomes the 17th player to commit to the Rebels via the portal and the 2nd TE to do so. Joining Bruckler as a TE transfer to Ole Miss is former Arkansas TE Luke Hasz. The Rebels’ leading TE in 2024, Caeden Prieskorn, declared for the 2025 NFL Draft so the team needed to add reinforcements.

The Rebels have spent much of the offseason retooling the offensive weapons. Wide receivers Caleb Odom, De’Zhaun Stribling, Deuce Alexander, and Traylon Ray have all transferred to Oxford, joining the incoming TEs. Offensive lineman Patrick Kutas and running back Kewan Lacy have also committed to the Rebels this offseason.

On defense, the Rebels have added star edge rushers Princewill Umanmielen and Da’Shawn Womack. The major losses for the team include OL Micah Pettus and WR Noreel White.
