When it comes to the NFL Combine, defensive backs are usually the ones who run the fastest times in the 40-yard dash.

That proved to be true once again on Monday in Indianapolis, and it was a former SEC defensive back who posted the fastest time so far.

As you can see below, Ole Miss DB Zedrick Woods posted an official time of 4.29 seconds, narrowly edging Auburn DB Jamel Dean’s 4.30 time:

There are still a few guys left to go, but that time from Woods will be tough to beat. And, it will also catch the eyes of NFL scouts.

Dean and Woods both improved their draft stock with those runs, so we’ll see what happens when April’s draft rolls around.
