What Lane Kiffin said after Ole Miss’s win over Louisiana-Monroe
By Sydney Hunte
Published:
Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss defeated Louisiana-Monroe, 35-3, on Senior Day at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. That said, it wasn’t an easy game: the Rebels only led 7-3 at halftime before putting up 28 unanswered points in the 2nd half.
Ultimately, the Rebels finished off a perfect record at home. Next up: the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State, set for Thanksgiving night in Starkville. The Bulldogs defeated the Rebels 24-22 in Oxford last season; that’s sure to be a talking point for the team headed into a short week of practice. It certainly was a topic of discussion for Kiffin during his postgame press conference as Ole Miss will look to end the season at 10-2 and remain in the hunt for a New Year’s 6 bowl game. Meanwhile, there’s something on the line for the Bulldogs as well: they can clinch bowl eligibility with a home upset of the Rebels.
Here’s some of what Kiffin said at the podium as he met with the media:
Lane Kiffin says he was caught off-guard by the question about Jaxson Dart coming back at Reb Talk. He admits he probably shouldn't have said it and that Dart will state his intentions when he's ready.

Kiffin asked his offense at halftime if they went hunting this morning because it was the first day of it, he was told.
"Maybe that joke worked."
