The Auburn Tigers carried a slim 10-7 lead into halftime of the Iron Bowl, and WR Ryan Davis has been one of the most productive players in the contest.

Davis was definitely one of QB Jarrett Stidham’s favorite targets in the first half and has been for much of this season. He entered halftime with a game-high seven catches for 74 yards. Alabama will need to tighten up its coverage on Davis on the defensive side of the ball while Auburn will look to find him for more big plays.

Davis is already having a memorable Iron Bowl, but he also etched his name into Auburn’s record books in the game. According to Michael Niziolek with 247 Sports, Davis has set a school record for catches in a season. Davis entered the game with 58 catches and broke the previous record of 60 catches that was set by Darvin Adams.

Davis also entered the game with 564 receiving yards and 5 TDs. No other Tigers player entered the Iron Bowl with more than 30 catches on the season.

Congratulations to Davis for his impressive accomplishment!
