The NFL only takes the best quarterbacks from the college ranks, so to be the best of the best, you have to find ways to get the ball to receivers even when they aren’t open.

During the 2017 season, no one was better at that than a pair of former SEC quarterbacks, who led the league in passing into tight windows.

NFL.com broke down the full top-10 list here, but two ex-SEC stars finished in the top two spots, as you can see below:

  • No. 1 — Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (Mississippi State) — 82.1 passer rating
  • No. 2 — Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions (Georgia) — 80.8 rating

Interestingly, neither the Cowboys nor the Lions made the playoffs, but both had decent years.

With quarterbacks like Prescott and Stafford running their offenses, though, both teams should be tough to beat in 2018 and beyond.
