2 SEC coaches listed as Vegas favorites for Michigan job
With another head coach opening at a big-time college football program, more SEC coaches are being thrown into speculation as possible replacements.
Bovada, an online sportsbook, recently released its top betting favorites to be the next Michigan Wolverines head coach.
According to Bovada’s list, Tennessee head coach Butch Jones and LSU head coach Les Miles occupy two of the top five spots.
Bovada Michigan coaching favorites
- Jim Harbaugh (+200)
- Les Miles (+250)
- Butch Jones (+350)
- Mike Gundy (+350)
- Greg Schiano (+450)
It was reported yesterday that Jones declined any interest in the coaching vacancy at Michigan and reportedly could be on the verge of signing a contract extension with the Vols.
As for Miles, he’s constantly brought up in anytime the Michigan head coaching job is avaliable. Miles, who played and coached at Michigan, has been involved in the Wolverines’ past two head coaching hires but has remained at LSU. He last declined the opportunity to become Michigan’s head coach in 2010 before the university hired Brady Hoke.
Both Miles and Jones have not given any indication that they would be open to the job change, but it’s always a little unnerving for fan bases to see their head coach appear as “favorites” for another job.
