Carnage report: SEC has more draft picks than Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC combined through 3 rounds
Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft is officially in the books, and rounds 4-7 will resume Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ET.
So far, the 2020 draft is much like recent drafts — it’s been dominated by the Southeastern Conference. The SEC set a first-round record with 15 picks, and it later set a record for the most picks through the first 2 rounds with 25.
Currently, the SEC has more draft picks (40) than the Big Ten (17), Big 12 (12) and ACC (8) combined.
LSU offensive lineman Damien Lewis was the first SEC player off the board in the third round to the Seattle Seahawks. All total, 15 SEC players were drafted in the third round.
Through 3 rounds, Ole Miss is the only SEC team without a NFL Draft pick.

Danny Kanell… paging Danny Kanell… your b.s. has been exposed and the turtlenecks you wear make you look like an erect, uncircumcised p3nis.
So LSU actually dressed out an NFL team? I thought they looked awfully good!
Lane Kiffin can explain to his recruits why they are the only SEC school so far not to have a player drafted.
He has yet to coach a game at Ole Miss…..
That’s not Lame Kittens fault.
You guys REALLY need to add a edit button to the comments. Get on it SDS.
SDS is a WordPress site. The software can handle user edits, but the admins have turned it off.
He can indeed tell them that Ole Miss had the youngest team in the ncaa last year
Is Jake Fromm even going to get drafted? Heading into this it sounded like he was a lock for mid-late 2nd RD, which sounded reasonable to me.
It just seems like nobody wants a QB right now. If you told me he would’ve dropped to the fourth round then I would’ve assumed Eason and maybe Gordon were already picked, but Hurts has been the only QB taken through 3 rounds. Newton and Winston’s free agency presence probably affects this a lot.
The Vikings have 13! picks today, they have Cousins on the hook for 2 more years so they’re not in the market for a FA QB at all. It makes sense they could use one of those on a flyer, and it might be a good to perfect situation for Fromm as well.
My goodness, the QB from Florida International just got selected and Fromm is still on the board. I mean, it’s hard to believe but it’s like teams don’t even think he has a chance to make their roster. Eventually teams have got to start drafting for their practice squads.
I don’t know their situation as far as picks but I think New Orleans would be the best place for Fromm to land. Payton could mold him into a Drew Brees like qb.
I think the Saints are done for the weekend, they traded away their remaining picks already. I guess they could trade future picks to get back in the draft but that’s probably unlikely
The LSU haul is amazing. LSU & BAMA send more dudes to the NFL than any power 5 conference. The SEC sends more dudes than b-10 & 12 combined. Talk about lopsided, this is the definition of lopsided.
What’s up with that LA logo? I thought they were listing the Chargers picks or is that the Chargers new logo and they listed the Rams picks by accident?
