One of the longstanding traditions of the NFL Draft is the announcement of “Mr. Irrelevant.”

The title is awarded to the final pick of the draft. With the draft now 7 rounds long, Mr. Irrelevant is pick No. 262 of the weekend. And while anything is possible, 7th-round picks undoubtedly face an uphill battle to making a difference in the NFL.

This year, the title of Mr. Irrelevant belongs to Iowa State QB Brock Purdy with the San Francisco 49ers making Purdy the last pick of the 2022 Draft.

Though he lasted until the final pick of the draft, Purdy was a star during his time with the Cyclones. His best season came as a sophomore when Purdy threw for more than 3,900 yards with 27 TDs.

For his career, Purdy finished with 12,170 yards passing and 100 career TDs. Now, he’ll face the struggle of making an NFL roster in training camp.
