2023 NFL Draft: QB class establishes new record in Common Draft Era
By Keith Farner

Quarterbacks were especially popular in this year’s NFL Draft, and because of that, the league set a record in the Common Draft Era.
BYU’s Jaren Hall became the 12th quarterback taken in the draft when he followed Penn State’s Sean Clifford in the 5th round.
Given the recent success of San Francisco’s Brock Purdue, and Nick Foles with the Philadelphia Eagles, there was some discussion about teams stocking up on QB depth in case an injury happens during a playoff run.
Interestingly, QBs who went back-to-back in the 4th round, Jake Haener and Stetson Bennett, will be on the roster with QBs also from their alma maters, Fresno State and Georgia.
And with BYU QB Jaren Hall going to the Vikings at No. 164 in round five, 12 QBs have been drafted in the first five rounds, a new record for the Common Draft Era. https://t.co/kV8FIvelQU
