3 SEC fanbases listed as the favorites to storm the field first in 2018
Storming the field after big wins is a part of being a college football fan, and it provides memories that last a lifetime (trust me, I still remember Mizzou’s big win over No. 1 Oklahoma in 2010).
So now, entering the 2018 season, MyBookie is allowing fans to bet on which fanbase will be the first to storm the field this fall.
Surprisingly, Kentucky is listed as the odds-on favorite to be the first group of fans to rush the field, leading the way with -110 odds. Right behind the Wildcats are South Carolina (+150) and Texas A&M (+150):
*NEW SPECIAL* First fan base to rush the field in 2018
Kentucky 10/11 (-110)
South Carolina 3/2 (+150)
Texas A&M 3/2 (+150)
UConn 3/1 (+300)
Toledo 3/1 (+300)
Old Dominion 3/1 (+300)https://t.co/Ph28pdNtbk pic.twitter.com/Kdph8j5GB2— MyBookie CFB (@MyBookieCFB) August 21, 2018
The Gamecocks and Aggies make sense, because both have big Week 2 home games (vs. Georgia and vs. Clemson, respectively). The Wildcats, meanwhile, start with a game against Central Michigan — a very winnable game that shouldn’t prompt a storming of Kroger Field.
The Wildcats’ big game comes the following week, when they travel to Florida to try to end their 31-year losing streak to the Gators. But since it’s at The Swamp, Kentucky fans won’t be storming the field there, either.
Perhaps MyBookie is targeting Week 4 and Week 5 matchups against Mississippi State and South Carolina, respectively — both of which would be big wins for the ‘Cats.
