There were some impressive on-field performances in the SEC in Week 7, which means a few coaches are getting some well-earned recognition.

Four SEC assistant coaches appeared on the CoachingSearch Assistant Coaches of the Week list for Week 7. Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin headlines the list and his joined by fellow Crimson Tide staff member Brent Key, who coaches the offensive line. Vanderbilt defensive line coach C.J. Ah You earned a special mention for his unit’s outstanding performance against Georgia and Florida defensive backs coach Torrian Gray was honored as well.

Kiffin and Key were part of an offensive staff that helped guide Alabama to 594 total yards and 5 touchdowns at Tennessee, including 438 yards on the ground.

Vanderbilt’s defensive line was key in limiting Georgia’s talented run game, during the Commodores’ impressive road win against the Bulldogs. Ah You’s unit helped hold Georgia to only 75 yards on the ground, its lowest total at home since 2009.

Florida’s defensive backs are among the best in the nation, and Gray is getting a lot of credit. Against a strong Missouri passing attack, Jalen “Teez” Tabor and Quincy Wilson each returned an interception for a touchdown in the 40-14 rout.

The SEC had several strong performances over the weekend, and the coaches deserve their share of recognition.
