The 2017 SEC season was billed as the year of the running backs, but 2018 may end up going down as the year of the quarterbacks.

Indeed, the SEC has a wealth of talented throwers, and five of them made NFL.com analyst Chase Goodbread’s list of the top 18 Heisman Trophy candidates.

Find the full list here, but you can see where each of the five SEC quarterbacks ranked below:

  • No. 17 — Nick Fitzgerald, QB, Mississippi State
  • No. 12 — Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
  • No. 10 — Drew Lock, QB, Mizzou
  • No. 8 — Jarrett Stidham, QB, Auburn
  • No. 6 — Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia

Interestingly, two former SEC quarterbacks, Michigan’s Shea Patterson (No. 3) and West Virginia’s Will Grier (No. 1), also make the cut.

Which SEC quarterback do you think will live up to expectations and end up in the Heisman race this fall?
