Mark your calendars, college football fans, a 5-star recruit has announced a commitment date this month.

Malaki Starks of Jefferson, Georgia, who plays quarterback and defensive back in high school, will announce his decision at an event at 5:30 p.m. on March 25 at the Jefferson Civic Center. For several months, Starks has held a top three of Alabama, Georgia and Clemson.

The 6-foot-1, 196-pound junior is ranked as the nation’s No. 29 overall prospect, No. 4 athlete, and No. 4 overall recruit in Georgia by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Charles Power of 247Sports wrote of Starks, “While he is a true “athlete” at this point, he may best project at linebacker longterm given his athleticism, size and versatile skill set. Looks like one of the top underclassmen in Georgia at this point. Projects as a multi-year starter at the Power Five level with the upside to develop into an early round NFL Draft pick.”

Starks has weighed in on the position discussion.

“I love both sides of the ball,” Starks said, per 247Sports. “For me, since I love both sides of the ball, it’s kind of hard for me to pick. But I think I’m just going to have to ride the wave for now and just see how everything plays out. Let’s say I go to college for defense and it doesn’t work out. With my ability to do so many things, I feel like, on offense, it wouldn’t be a hard change for me.”
