It is just the first week of October, but basketball is already on the mind of a lot of SEC fans. In the latest ESPN Bracketology, six conference teams are slated to make the NCAA Tournament.

Florida, who made a big addition in Virginia Tech transfer Kerry Blackshear Jr. this offseason, is one of the four top seeds, put in the South division with the first-round games taking place in Tampa. The Gators beat Nevada in the first round last season before losing to Michigan. LSU, the reigning regular season champions, are a six seed in the same region.

John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats come in as a two seed in the Midwest and are joined in that quarter of the bracket by Tennessee as a nine seed. Kentucky brings in yet another talented recruiting class while the Volunteers will have to find replacements for Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield.

Auburn, fresh off its first Final Four appearance in program history, are projected as a seven seed in the East Region. The Tigers lost Jared Harper, Bryce Brown and Chuma Okeke this offseason. Ole Miss, in the second year of the Kermit Davis era, comes in as a eight seed in that region.
