Every year, during the increasingly hectic coaching carousel season, a few assistants get their first crack at a head coaching job.

So, who are the guys who have never been head coaches at the college level to keep an eye on this upcoming offseason?

Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports spoke with many coaches and put together a list of 25 guys whose names kept coming up. As you can see below, 7 current SEC assistants made the list (in alphabetical order):

  • Tennessee OC Alex Golesh
  • LSU WR coach Cortez Hankton
  • LSU DC Matt House
  • Tennessee RB coach Jerry Mack
  • Georgia RB coach Dell McGee
  • Ole Miss co-DC Chris Partridge
  • Alabama WR coach Holmon Wiggins

Which of these talented assistants will be the first to land a head coaching job? Perhaps a couple of them will land new gigs this offseason.
